ACV Update 2-28-2022

Good afternoon A-C Valley,

This message will provide you with an update on changes to the masking requirements on our vans and buses; as well as, an update about the COVID-19 cases on campus.

Effective Friday, February 25, 2022, CDC will not require people to wear masks on vans or buses operated by public school systems.

CDC is making this change to align with updated guidance that no longer recommends universal indoor mask wearing in K-12 schools with a low or medium COVID-19 Community Level. Therefore, the A-C Valley SD will no longer be requiring masking on our vans and busses.

Information regarding this change can be found on the CDC website. Mask recommendation were dropped for the majority of the US population. This is based on a new tool implemented by CDC, called Community Level. The link to CDC Community Level page is here COVID-19 by County | CDC .

COVID-19 Community Levels are a new tool to help communities decide what prevention steps to take based on the latest data. Levels can be low, medium, or high and are determined by looking at hospital beds being used, hospital admissions, and the total number of new COVID-19 cases in an area. Take precautions to protect yourself and others from COVID-19 based on the COVID-19 Community Level in your area.

In addition, the district is doing a great job with keeping our COVID cases low. Over the past two weeks, the Jr/Sr HS had zero cases and the Elementary School had two positive cases.

Have a great evening!
