COVID Update 10-30-2020
Good afternoon,
I am calling to provide an update on the district’s COVID cases; as well as, our instructional plan for next week. At this time we have had one additional case reported, which takes the total to three positive COVID cases. In addition, we also have 16 people who are now on quarantine. We have been working closely with the DOH, and have contacted all 16 people earlier today to inform them of the quarantine due to their close contact with a COVID positive person.
Because of the COVID positive cases and the number of people on quarantine, I will be closing the school district for a total of five days. This closure will include all athletic programs and the students who attend the CCCC.
We will count today as day one and are planning to return to face-to-face instruction on Wednesday, November 4, 2020. This means that we will continue with distance learning on Monday and Tuesday of next week. In the meantime, I will be working with the DOH, as well as our school nurses to evaluate the current situation. If we have additional COVID related cases, this closure may be extended.
We do apologize for this inconvenience, but we are doing our best to mitigate this spread.
Please do your part to stay safe.
Dr. David McDeavitt
