School Safety/End of Year Update

School Safety Update

First, I would like to let you know that we will be conducting our second Lockdown Drill of the year on Thursday, April 20, 2023.  These drills are part of our overall safety plan!

In addition to a full time armed School Police Officer (SPO) and the Newly Created Partnership with the Emlenton Police, we also limit outside guest access to our school buildings during the day.

We use one secure entrance point at both schools that is surrounded by bullet resistant glass and houses the RAPTOR System which screens all outside guest prior to entering.  During the day, our campus is monitored inside and out by the SPO and Emlenton Police.

Staff members are also monitoring the hallways, cafeterias; and playgrounds, and follow the expectation that if you: See something, Say Something.

End of Year Update

The end of year is quickly approaching and I wanted to provide details about important dates.  The graduation ceremony will remain on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.  The three days that were missed due to electrical outages will be made up on May 30, May 31, and June 1, 2023.

Please make special note that the students will go home at 11:00 AM on June 1, 2023.

In closing our staff have worked very hard to prepare the A-CV students for the PSSA and Keystone test, please encourage your son or daughter to do their best on the up and coming state mandated test.

Take good care!

Dr. David McDeavitt
