-
COMPULSORY ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT – Once a child is enrolled, they are required to comply with the school’s attendance policy. Pennsylvania’s compulsory age is age 6 – 18.
-
When a student is absent from school, he/she must submit an excuse within three (3) days of his/her return. Failure to submit an appropriate excuse on time will result in the absence being marked illegal. Excuses can be sent in with your child, faxed or emailed at attendance@acvsd.org
-
After a student accumulates 10 days of excused absences by parent excuses, the district may require a doctor’s excuse. A letter will be sent to parents informing them that doctor excuses will be required for all absences from that point.
-
Sports and Activities – Any student who will not be in school by 9:59 am the day of their after-school sport or activity must alert the office 24 hours in advance in order to participate in that day’s activity. You may notify the Attendance Office by phone or email at attendance@acvsd.org
-
Non-School Sponsored Educational Trips – students may be excused from school for non-school sponsored educational trip, for example to attend a conference or to go on a family trip. Absences will not be subject to penalties for truancy if the administration has approved the trip before it occurs. To be excused, students must submit the completed form – ONE WEEK prior to the trip.
