July 2009 Board Meeting Highlights HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SCHOOLBOARD MEETING HELD , July 20, 2009 Awarded the bid for General Supplies for the elementary and high school to Kurtz Bros. in the amount of $25,505.61. Approved the renewal of a Certificate of Deposit with Farmers National Bank for 6 months at 1.75% in the hopes that the rates will improve. Approved, as listed and upon receipt of all appropriate documentation, adding the following to the substitute list for the 2009-10 school year: TEACHERS CAFETERIA/CUSTODIAN/AIDE Michael Rodriguez-Social Studies Heidi Jo Sayers – Elementary Education William Gombos - Custodian Karen Haugh – Art Kelly Wood – Art Stephanie Rizzo – Art Robert Geer – Physics Approved to employ effective upon receipt of all appropriate documentation, Alma Anschutz as Senior High Yearbook Advisor at a stipend according to the negotiated contract. Approved to employ, effective with the 2009-10 school year, upon receipt of all appropriate documentation, Jessica Nimelli, as the Elementary Art Teacher at a beginning salary of Step 1 Bachelors. Approved to employ, effective upon receipt of all appropriate documentation, Jenny Lowrey as High School Play Director at a stipend according to the negotiated contract. Approved to employ, effective upon receipt of all appropriate documentation, Heather Good, as the Junior Varsity Volleyball Coach, at a supplemental salary of $1,351. Approved the revised Athletic Coaches’ Handbook. Approved to employ, effective upon receipt of all appropriate documentation, David Middleton as the Assistant Baseball Coach, at a supplemental salary according to the negotiated contract. Approved to accept the resignation of Damon Thompson, Assistant Varsity Football Coach and to advertise the position. Approved to bid the drivers’ training car similar to the spec used this past year indicating prefer blue. Approved the conference and field trip requests, as presented. Approved to purchase Life Science Textbooks at a total cost of $3,496.50, including shipping. A pproved the request of Cub Scout Pack 60 to hold meetings on Wednesday evenings during the 2009-10 school year in the elementary cafetorium. Approved the A-C Valley Youth Football League schedule for 2009-10 school year. Approved, as submitted, the transportation rates for the 2009-10 school year. Approved, as presented, new bus drivers (upon receipt of all appropriate documentation and an interview with the administration) veteran bus drivers and bus contractors for the 2009-10 school year.
Approved the request of the ACV PTO to hold activities and fundraisers, as presented. Approved the Fundraising Calendar for the 2009-10 school year.
